The 16-year-old half-sister of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian also sported a bag in green, gold, red and black, which are the colours of the Rastafarian movement, a way of life which endorses and promotes the use of marijuana.

The E! star looked far more low key and demure than on previous nights at the event, dressed in a simple black oversized T-shirt which almost completely covered her matching black shorts.

Kylie's rep did not return calls to MailOnline.

She accessorised with a number of Native American inspired neck chains and was seen carrying a gold VIP wristband as she made her way backstage.

Sunday wasn't the first time Kylie had donned her controversial choker - she also sported it last Saturday at the festival when she and her 18-year-old sister, Kendall, both dressed in matching black outfits.

Although there was no suggestion she has ever smoked any weed, eyebrows were raised in February when the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star uploaded a picture to Instagram of her hanging out with Justin Bieber's friend, Lil Za, who had been charged with three felonies the previous month, two of which were for possession of Ecstasy and Oxycodone.

The snap was taken inside Bieber's Calabasas, California mansion where Za was living at the time and where police had allegedly found vases filled with marijuana during a raid.

Justin, Lil Za and another friend, Lil Twist, have all previously been pictured smoking what looked like cannabis joints together, and the Never Say Never singer has made little secret of his love for the drug.

While smoking marijuana is legal in Kylie's home state of California if you are issued a medical marijuana card by a qualified physician, she is unlikely to own one as you either have to be over 18-years-old or accompanied by a parent or guardian when applying.

Sunday happened to see Easter clash with 420 day, which is celebrated on April 20 every year by marijuana fans.

Many celebrities showed their support with Snoop Dogg, Miley Cyrus, Seth Rogen and James Franco spreading the 420 cheer, with Snoop posting a picture of himself dressed as a bunny rabbit and carrying a basket of weed.

Meanwhile, Coachella came to a close last night, headlined by Arcade Fire, who gave a spectacular performance, which opened with them jokingly introducing two people in Daft Punk suits, who performed a snippet of that band's hit Get Lucky.

Arcade Fire was joined later in their set by musician Beck, who was dressed in a Pope costume, and performed a cover of Prince's track Controversy with them.
