A green-fingered cannabis grower who produced thousands of pounds worth of the drug at his first attempt has been made the subject of a suspended prison sentence.

Prosecutor Bashir Ahmed told Bradford Crown Court police officers went to Jordan Tattersall's home in Emscote Avenue, Halifax, in January after reports of a strong smell of cannabis from the property.
When they went in they found a growing tent in the cellar which was full of drying cannabis material.
Mr Ahmed said the crop was over two kilograms and could have been worth more than £22,000.
In a bedroom officers found a further 16 seedlings and Mr Ahmed said that appeared to be a follow-on crop.
He said those plants could have yielded a further 1.6 kilograms of cannabis worth around £12,000.
During a police interview Tattersall said he had been growing the drug for his own use, but Mr Ahmed said he appeared to have been overwhelmed by the success of his first crop.
Tattersall admitted a charge of producing cannabis and an allegation that he possessed the drug with intent to supply it on the basis that he might have shared some of it with friends.
Judge Colin Burn said the amount of cannabis had "wildly exceeded" the defendant's expectations, but it had been a very organised and well set up cannabis grow.
The judge said Tattersall would have to continue his efforts to address his own drug use and a suspended sentence would give him the opportunity to keep his employment.
Tattersall was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, and he must also do 150 hours unpaid work for the community.
