Four remanded in custody after Selkirk pub cannabis find

Four Polish nationals have been remanded in custody after cannabis plants worth up to £1.8m were found in a rundown Borders pub.


Four Polish nationals have been remanded in custody after cannabis plants worth up to £1.8m were found in a rundown Borders pub.

The men appeared in private at Jedburgh Sheriff Court charged with being concerned in the supply of the drug.

 

It is alleged that about 2,000 plants were seized after police searched the Queens Head Inn in Selkirk.

 

All four men made no plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination.

 

Bartosz Gloskowski, 22, Piotr Fryczak, 38, both of Selkirk, Rudoslaw Drozdowski, 30, of Galashiels, and 28-year-old Jakub Gorski, 28, of no fixed abode, appeared on petition at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.

 

They were charged with producing a controlled drug, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and possession of the drug.

 

In addition, Mr Gloskowski, Mr Fryczak and Mr Gorski faced charges under the Electricity Act and Proceeds of Crime Act.

 

They were remanded in custody by Sheriff Kevin Drummond and are due to return to court on 7 November.
