Four people from Swansea have been arrested for an alleged conspiracy to import cannabis.
Three men, aged 43, 39 and 36, and a woman, 32, were arrested by National Crime Agency officers in a series of operations, supported by South Wales Police, in the Swansea area yesterday morning. All four were last night being questioned in police custody.
The arrests follow a seizure of cannabis made by Border Force officers at the port of Plymouth, where 13kg of the drug were found concealed in the fuel tank of a car on October 9.
Following the seizure, a 33-year-old man from the Swansea area was arrested and bailed pending further enquiries.
Dawn Cartwright, from the NCA’s Border Policing Command, said: “Our investigation into this attempt to bring illegal drugs into the UK continues and has not ended with these arrests.”
