THE region's first pro-cannabis rally is underway in Redcar.
Cannabis enthusiasts from across the North-East set up camp at Redcar Rugby Club in Green Lane this morning.
The rally has been organised by Teesside Pro-Cannabis Movement (TPCM) as part of a campaign to legalise the class B drug.
Police are monitoring the event and say they will deal robustly with anyone behaving in a criminal or antisocial manner.
Organiser John Holiday said: "We're educated peaceful people and not idiots. We're here today with something to give back to the community, and we're here to share our experiences and help each other."
