A cannabis dealer caught with £840 worth of the drug has been jailed for 18 months.

Kevin Pryor pleaded guilty to possessing 84 grams of the class B drug, with intent to supply it, on November 11.

Leicester Crown Court was told officers executed a search warrant at Pryor's then-home in Sturdee Road, Eyres Monsell.

The stash of cannabis, including 21.9 grams in a tub and 29 individual deals in other plastic tubs, were recovered from a bedroom.

John Hallissey, prosecuting, said: "The total value of the drugs was £840."

Pryor (35) also admitted handling two stolen bikes found at the property.

Mr Hallissey said: "One was a BMX bike and both were stolen from Leicester College.

"He told the police he had received the stolen bikes in exchange for cannabis.

"Officers also found a 30-second video showing extreme pornography."

Pryor, who later moved to temporary accommodation at Lawford Road, Eyres Monsell, denied possessing the extreme pornographic clip but was convicted by city magistrates.

He was committed to crown court for all matters to be sentenced together.

Mr Hallissey said, in 2012, Pryor was given a community order for possessing 60 grams of cannabis with intent to supply it.

Sentencing, Judge Philip Head said: "You have been convicted of doing exactly the same thing regarding cannabis.

"It was done for calculated profit because you are an entrenched user of cannabis and were short of money."

Judge Head said the video clip on the defendant's phone was "disgusting".

Carl Gaskell, mitigating, said: "He became involved in dealing to finance his cannabis habit."

Mr Gaskell said Pryor subsequently split from his partner and was looking after two of his children on his own.

He said: "He's concerned about the children.

"He also has other children with his former partner.

"He contested the video clip because he thought he had deleted it. Both of the stolen bikes have now been returned.

"He's expressed remorse."
