Johnathan Anthony French-Bell, 23, told officers in his Heathcourt, Dursley home that he only smoked his own at home, Stroud Magistrates' Court heard yesterday.

Police searched his home on June 5, and he showed them £20 worth of cannabis, said prosecutor Graham Dono.

"He said to officers 'You all know I smoke in my own flat. You cannot nick me for having my own cannabis'," said Mr Dono.

Lisa Ellis, defending, said suspected autism is being investigated by medical professionals and use of the drug helped calm him.

He was find £75, with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
