Dudley man allowed cannabis factory in his home to pay for grandparent's kitchen

There were 66 mature plants that could have had a street value of £48,000, depending on their yield, said Howard Searle, prosecuting.
He added there was also 51 cannabis seedlings.
Talwinder Singh-Sandhu told police he had been offered £10,000 to allow the cannabis farm to be set up.
Mr Searle said Sandhu played no part in the production of the controlled drug and added “He said he was going to buy his grandparents a new kitchen and keep some of the money for himself.”
Sandhu, of Furlong Walk, Lower Gornal, admitted permitting his premises to be used for the production of cannabis and he was given a ten month jail sentence suspended for two years.
The 20-year-old was further ordered to do 125 hours unpaid work in the community and pay £250 costs.
