South Wales Police have recovered a large amount of drugs from two raids in Swansea

Drugs worth around £23,000 have been recovered this week by police after two raids in Swansea.

At the first haul at a property in Bryngelli Drive, Treboeth, heroin with a street value of around £14,000 was recovered.

A man, 46, and a woman, 47, were arrested and have been bailed while the inquiry continues.

The second raid was carried out at a flat in King's Road in Swansea's SA1 waterside development where 16lbs of cannabis leaf and £9,000 in cash were recovered.

A 32-year-man was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.

South Wales Police acting detective inspector David Butt of Swansea police said: "The activities were brought about as a result of pro-active policing and intelligence gathered by officers, much of it provided by members of the public.

"This type of activity in our communities shows that we will not tolerate the production or supply of drugs.

"We are very grateful to the public who continue to support our work, providing us with valuable intelligence which results in positive results such as these."
