A 21-YEAR-OLD Ripley man has appeared in court charged with possessing cannabis.
Matthew Brown pleaded guilty to possessing the class B drug when he appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court.
The hearing heard that unemployed Brown, of Fearn Avenue, was stopped and search in the town at 9.25pm on July 25.
Officers found 13 wraps of the drug on him and arrested him.
Magistrates handed Brown a 12-month community order, ordered him to undertake 100 hours unpaid work, and told him to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £60 victim surcharge
