A dopey drug dealer was caught - because he was wearing a long coat on a blazing hot day.
Steven Copley, 25, was spotted by passing cops dressed in the heavy winter coat with bulging pockets on a summer’s day.
And a court heard their suspicions were confirmed when a car pulled up alongside overdressed Copley - and he reached into his big pockets for a package.
Cardiff Crown Court heard that in the long overcoat were seven bags of skunk cannabis.
Prosecutor Alex Greenwood told the court: “It was a hot July evening and the grey coat was long and plain clothes officers became suspicious.”
Jobless Copley pleaded guilty to possessing class B drugs with intent to supply them.
Copley, from Ely, Cardiff, was handed a four-month suspended jail sentence and ordered to attend a substance abuse programme.
