Police are investigating after a couple complained they found MARIJUANA among the layers of their double cheeseburgers.
The pair told officers they purchased the tripy burgers at the McDonald's drive-thru on Richmond Street in the town of Ottumwa, Iowa.
After biting into their burgers the couple each noticed a "plant-like" material which they say smelled and looked like pot.
They immediately told the restaurant manager about their unexpected discovery before calling the police.
A sample of the substance has been sent for testing to determine if it is cannabis.

And in 2006 American football coach Todd Haley took home a salad for his wife only to discover a DEAD RAT inside the container.
Some might say serves her right for going to McDonald's and ordering a salad.
