The picture was one of the pieces of incriminating evidence that landed 40-year-old David Terrance Harris before a judge at Carlisle Crown Court.

Prosecuting counsel Abi Hudson told the court that Harris was arrested on December 5 last year after police raided the home he shares with his wife and three children in Skiddaw Crescent, Distington.

Among the items seized were two bags of cannabis, a cannabis grinder, some cannabis seeds, a book called European Cannabis Cultivation and the mobile.

Harris immediately admitted selling cannabis to two of his friends but insisted he had only ever managed to grow one plant.

Harris pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis, supplying it and possessing it with intent to supply it.

He was given a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered to do 150 hours unpaid community work.

Judge Paul Batty QC told him: "Anyone involved in dealing in cannabis on whatever level can expect a custodial sentence in this court. The only question is whether in the circumstances that sentence can properly be suspended."
