A YOUNG man has appeared before magistrates charged with importing, possessing and supplying cannabis.


A YOUNG man has appeared before magistrates charged with importing, possessing and supplying cannabis.

James Robert Bridgewater, of Langdale Avenue, Crook, County Durham, is alleged to have imported drugs into the UK after a package of the class B drug was intercepted at Heathrow Airport on a plane from Mexico in May.

The 20-year-old is also accused of possessing a gram of cannabis resin on May 24 and of supplying the drug in his home town between March 30 and May 24.

Mr Bridgewater withheld his plea at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates court today (Friday, December 20).

Magistrates committed the case to Durham Crown Court to be heard on Friday, January 3.

Mr Bridgewater received unconditional bail.
