A COUPLE have been arrested after police seized drugs and more than £30,000 cash during a raid on a Walsall house.
Officers visited an address in Harden Road, Leamore last night (Tuesday) after a report of a cannabis farm being run at the residential house.
Local police obtained an out of hours search warrant, under the Misuse of Drugs Act, and visited the semi-detached property where the stash of cannabis and cash was found in a garden outbuilding.
A 30-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis last night.
A man, aged 50, visited Bloxwich Police Station this morning (Wednesday) and was duly arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and money laundering.
Inspector Colin Mattinson, from Walsall Investigation Team, said: "These arrests swiftly followed information being passed to our local officers about suspicious activity at this address.
"We were able to visit the premises the same evening and seized a significant amount of cash as well as dozens of cannabis plants.
"The message to people living and working in the Walsall area would always be to report any suspicions around possible criminal behaviour of this kind as your information could prove crucial − and may ultimately see people brought before the courts."
