A CASH-STRAPPED builder facing financial ruin started a cannabis farm in a home he was constructing to pay off his debts.
A CASH-STRAPPED builder facing financial ruin started a cannabis farm in a home he was constructing to pay off his debts.
Brian Jefferson and drug addict Simon Smith formed an unlikely partnership when they joined forces to grow the plants in Chesterton.
But the pair were caught at the incomplete end-terrace house in Heath Street, Chesterton - one of several that Jefferson had been contracted to build - when police called round.
Now the pair have been handed suspended jail sentences and ordered to carry out unpaid work.
