A HAUL of cannabis with a street value of £7m has been seized by officers.
A HAUL of cannabis with a street value of £7m has been seized by officers.
A Border Force unit based at North Shields ferry terminal intercepted 1.6 tonnes of resin bound for the UK.
The drugs were concealed inside a lorry load of lip balm and plastic bottles, which arrived on the ferry from Amsterdam.
Sam Bullimore, from Border Force, said: "We are determined to make life as difficult as possible for those involved in drug smuggling."
