A ‘BEREAVED’ cannabis grower busted with 10 plants at home in Runcorn has been cautioned and directed to the relevant services over his loss.
The grower told police he was ‘self-medicating’ following the death of a loved one.
Sergeant Billy Kendrick, of Runcorn Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said residents dealing with such issues should visit their GP or another relevant service instead of resorting to drugs.
The farm (pictured) had about 10 plants and was found growing in a tent with equipment such as lamps and an extractor fan.
The property was on Kingsley Road.
Sgt Kendrick said: “He had a bereavement a few years ago and decided the most appropriate course of action was to self-medicate to deal with the loss of a loved one. If you are suffering from emotional stress or trauma, go to your GP.
“They will signpost you.
“Don’t go to illegal street drugs, it will inherently lead to other crime.”
