Officers from the Central Neighbourhood Police Team (NPT) found a ‘substantial' amount of the class B drug at the house on Henry Street, in Darnley at around 8am on Tuesday.
Plants were found in the loft of the house but the majority had already been stripped and were being prepared for sale or use.
The estimated street value of the crop was around £2,500.
Police said the house was empty at the time of of the raid but that enquiries were ongoing to find the crop growers.
Acting sergeant Daniel Stoppard said the cannabis factory was not a sophisticated set up, but that those responsible had stolen around £1,500 of electricity by bypassing the meter.
He said: "This is yet another example of the Central NPT listening to the community and acting on the information.
"I am fed up of people who think it is acceptable to ruin communities with their drug dealing.
"My team will target those responsible and with the public assistance we can improve our communities.
"As a result of this excellent information from the community, the Central NPT has yet again reduced the source of income for drug dealers."
