Police have raided a house in Chester where they uncovered a cannabis farm.
At 9am today (Thursday, July 10) officers from the Chester Inner Neighbourhood Team executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address on Sealand Road.
On entering the premises they discovered a substantial cannabis cultivation set up.
Officers are in the process of seizing and forensically packaging the drugs and enquiries are ongoing to trace the individual responsible for the farm
Sergeant Andy Burrage of Chester Inner NPU said: "This warrant is part of our ongoing to commitment to tackle illicit drugs use in the city centre.
"We rely heavily on community intelligence and members of the public giving us information about their concerns or suspicions and I'd encourage anyone with similar concerns to contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
"In this case we have removed a large amount of cannabis plants from the address which will go some way to disrupting the supply of this illegal drug in our city."
