We can now release more details about a suspected cannabis factory found in Hanham in the early hours of Wednesday 21 May.
Officers were called to Grange Avenue by someone who had heard loud noises and had seen two men loitering suspiciously.
Despite a search of the area including using a police dog, there was no trace of the men, but the officers found a nearby property had a smashed window.
There was no one in the house, but officers and Crime Scene Investigators found that three bedrooms and the attic space of the rented property were being used to grow around 400 plants, believed to be cannabis. Samples will now be tested to establish whether they are the Class B drug.
The property was cleared of all plants and growing equipment by a team from Operation Viscount, a specialist team dedicated to tackling cannabis production across the Avon and Somerset policing area.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Rachael Hodges said: "The member of the public who called us to report this suspicious behaviour did exactly the right thing. We're always grateful to people who call in with information about possible criminal activity.
