Police raided a property in Hall Lane shortly after 7am on Monday after executing a warrant at a stock yard in Hammonds Road.
The court heard 268 seedlings were discovered beneath a trap door.
Mixture was granted conditional bail to re-appear before Chelmsford Crown Court on May 12.
