Four Eastern Shore counties were targeted by Maryland State Police in a drug sting that cast a wide net. Operation Look Out was a "cooperative cross-jurisdictional and multi-county drug investigation" intended to take down a drug trafficking organization that authorities believed was responsible for much of the heroin and other drugs plaguing the area, according to a State Police press release.
Operation Look Out, coordinated by the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division and the Eastern Upper Shore Drug Task Forces was carried out between July 15, 2015 and August 20, 2015.
The joint action netted a estimated $13 million of illicit drugs, including 926 weed plants, 919 grams of pot, over twenty grams of heroin, 185 grams of cocaine, more than 500 MDMA ('ecstasy') pills, five vehicles, fifty firearms and almost $23,000 in drug money.
