Secret medical cannabis research is to be conducted in the UK

Kings College in London and Sativa Group PLC are now collaborating together to find out if the illegal drug can benefit UK patients who suffer with medical conditions such as respiratory disease and inflammation. Cannabis will be produced in a secret Bristol location under licence from the Home Office, cultivation takes place inside a large greenhouse complex where the plants will be protected by security cameras and also motion detectors 24/7. Dr Tom Freeman from the University of Bath advised the National Health Service on the use of medical cannabis, he said: "It is now crucial to raise awareness of cannabis-based products and cannabinoids to doctors, patients and the public."
