RIP Jules Sinturel

03 Sep 2019

It is with great sadness that Soft Secrets France learned about the sudden and unexpected death of one of it’s former writers, Jules Sinturel.

RIP Jules Sinturel

Jules was French but lived the last 13 years of his life in the Netherlands, where he fell in with the Dutch cannabis scene. Jules was a long-time visitor of the Highlife Cup where his annual gimmick was to always stand in the frame when a final group photo was made of the cup winners. A practical joke that became legendary among Highlife and Soft Secrets staff. Jules spoke fluently Dutch and later became a volunteer for the famous Cannabis Liberation Day events in Amsterdam. His work for the cannabis scene was later rewarded when Jules became an annual jury member in the Highlife Cup, Europe’s oldest and most prestigious cannabis cup.

Having seen Jules last at the Highlife Cup 2019 in July, nobody expected that would be the last time. Not even 2 weeks later he suddenly died in his appartment in Amersfoort, due to health issues. An undiagnosed intestinal infection led to his sudden death at the age of 48. We will all miss this super friendly guy, the French Dutchman, with the eternal joint dangling from his lips. Soft Secrets wishes his family all the strength they need to cope with this loss.
