Mr Blunt was caught out after posting a video on Facebook, he was seen blowing smoke into the mouth of his pet reptile.
More than 500,000 people viewed the clip within days of it being posted online, and animal-rights campaigners.
Mr Blunt said: "Man, if they only knew. I've never hurt an animal in my life - I take in stray cats and dogs. I love animals, man."
