Carlisle men sentenced after parcel of drugs found at airport

A cannabis parcel being intercepted at Birmingham airport led police to arrest three men.
UK Border Agency officers found a package addressed to Richard Hood in Carlisle last February containing the drug.
Hood, his landlord Benjamin English and his uncle John English appeared at Carlisle Crown Court.
John English, 46, of Dalston Road, admitted producing cannabis and possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
Benjamin English, 35, of London Road, pleaded guilty to contravening the Customs and Excise Act and possessing cannabis.
Hood, 26, of Broome Court, Carlisle, admitted supplying cannabis.
John and Benjamin English were given 15-month prison sentences, suspended for two years, 200 hours of unpaid community work and £200 court costs. Hood was given a 12-month community order and £100 costs.
