Agential Cannabis 2026 Takes Shape as APAC’s B2B Medicinal Cannabis Marketplace
Agential Cannabis 2026 will take place on 23–24 September 2026 at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangkok, Thailand. Built for the growers, licensed producers, buyers, and manufacturers working across APAC’s medicinal cannabis industry, the two-day event pairs an international conference with a deliberately focused B2B expo covering the full value chain — from genetics and cultivation through to extraction, quality, and market access.
Across APAC, the medicinal cannabis industry is moving beyond early-stage development and into its next phase of commercial production. Regulatory frameworks are maturing, GMP standards are being adopted, and cross-border supply chains — particularly into Australia, Europe, and Japan — are beginning to carry meaningful volume. For the operators who grow, extract, and export at scale, the region has shifted from a conversation about potential to a conversation about throughput, consistency, and offtake.
Thailand’s Evolving Regulatory Landscape and Market Growth
In mid-2025, Thailand tightened its cannabis framework back toward a medical-only model, reinforcing prescription-based access and cementing its position as the only legal cannabis market in Southeast Asia. The numbers since have moved quickly: GACP-certified farms have grown from around 150 to almost 220 in a matter of months, and Thailand’s Narcotics Control Division, Food and Drug Administration, Ministry of Public Health has disclosed that 38 cannabis extraction licences and 4 export licences have been granted to date — with Australia already the primary export destination. The industry is moving from framework to flow.
Austranna Announced as Headline Sponsor
Austranna has been named Headline Sponsor of Agential Cannabis 2026. The Queensland-based licensed cultivator and manufacturer is preparing its first commercial harvest later this year from a purpose-built, state-of-the-art one-hectare facility with infrastructure to expand to five hectares. Supply is earmarked for distributors, pharmacies, and healthcare professionals across Australia and beyond.
CEO Bryan Ebstyne will present on automation, robotics, and GMP in controlled environment agriculture, and will join several panels sharing practical operator insights from building the Queensland operation.
“We’re stepping into the APAC conversation at an important time for the region,” said Bryan Ebstyne, CEO of Austranna. “Our focus has been on thoughtful facility design, quality genetics, and reliable production methods to deliver consistency for licensed businesses and healthcare professionals. Agential Cannabis provides a valuable opportunity to learn from regulators, growers, and industry leaders across APAC while contributing to the wider discussion. We’re proud to support the event as Headline Sponsor.”
Conference Program: Six Pillars of the Cannabis Value Chain
The conference program is structured around six key pillars: markets, production, genetics, AI and technology, regulations, and therapeutics. 35 speakers are confirmed, with the total expected to reach 50. The lineup is weighted toward working operators — the people running farms, breeding genetics, and moving product at scale — giving delegates practical insight from across APAC and international markets. Speakers include operators from some of the largest state-of-the-art indoor facilities in Canada, Australia, Thailand, the Netherlands, South Africa, and New Zealand; US genetics providers and breeders; international buyers from Europe, Australia, and Canada; leading clinicians, academics, and technology innovators; and industry association heads from the UK, EU, and Thailand. Thai government speakers will be confirmed in the coming weeks. The event is supported by the European Medicinal Cannabis Association (EUMCA) and the UK’s Cannabis Trades Association (CTA).
Networking and Exhibition: Connecting Global Buyers and Producers
The exhibition will bring together local and international buyers, producers and providers from across the medicinal cannabis value chain. Among the confirmed participants are Silver Sponsor HY-GEN Nutrients from Australia, TNR Bioscience Company Limited (TNRBio) from Thailand, and Umami Seed Co. from the United States, alongside the Thai Farm Pavilionfeaturing confirmed GACP-certified farms and direct access to local cultivators and processors.
The event will also include a VIP Welcome Reception on 23 September and an after party on 24 September, with further details to be announced.
“We’ve built this event around the people who actually grow, buy, and sell medicinal cannabis at scale,” said Petch Siriruekratana, Head of Operations of Agential Cannabis. “The speaker lineup, the expo, the buyer presence — it’s all pointed at getting deals done to meet the growing global demand for quality medicine, and knowledge shared between the key operators shaping this region.”
