420 day or Cannabis day

420 Day

Four-twenty is slang for marijuana consumption

Today is the unofficial holiday celebrated by cannabis enthusiasts, in honour of  Steve Capper, Dave Reddix, Jeffrey Noel, Larry Schwartz, and Mark Gravich. In fact each April 20 is 420 day.

In 1971, these five high school students in San Rafael, California, used the term “4:20” for searching an abandoned cannabis crop. Their meeting place was the statue of Louis Pasteur (a French biologist and chemist ) on the grounds of San Rafael High School and their meeting time was 4:20 PM.

Potheads, officials and businessman

In a way even the governments are celebrating with us by linking the number 420 to marijuana use. 420 became the worldwide event for smokers. Originally a protest the stigmas against marijuana, 420 has also become an awesome business opportunity around the marijuana culture.
