For every job there is a tool. Anyone who has ever grown cannabis hydroponically knows that having good, effective tools makes the months long process of growing the stuff less painful. You also gain a higher measure of control over your plant’s environment that is not possible if you’re guessing about crucial data such as pH and the concentration of your nutrient solution. The concentration of your nutrient solution, measured in Parts Per Million (PPM), is of paramount importance to your crop’s success. If you were to feed your plants with a weak solution your plant will not grow to its full potential. On the other hand, too high a concentration will scald your roots. The best and easiest way of ascertaining the concentration of your nutrient solution is with a PPM meter. They typically have a hand hold and two short rods sticking out of the bottom. Dip the two rods into the mixed nutrient solution and you’ll have an instant answer. Each vendor’s nutrient concentrate will have a value for the concentration of the nutrient solution for that brand printed on the container. The concentrate may be a solid or a liquid. Both work about the same. CBD Microdosing The other crucial tool you’ll need and will use every day is a pH meter. The pH of a solution can be measured easily with a meter such as this. The pH of a given thing, in this case a liquid, refers to the acidity or alkalinity of the liquid measured on a scale with values from 1 to 9. Low on the scale is acidic; higher on the scale is alkaline. A value of 7 is said to be pH neutral. Cannabis likes a slightly acidic pH, somewhere around 5.2. Both meters cost about $30 each, so there isn’t a huge expense incurred. These indispensable tools will make the daily process of feeding and watering very simple. As with pretty much every legally obtainable device, there are different bells and whistles such as keeping a weekly or even monthly recording of your measurements or large and impressive digital displays.
