Fortunately, there are some immediate signs such as the smell or the color that will signal the user whether a certain bud is beautiful or spoiled.

It's a mystery for many users: how to tell good weed vs bad weed?

Skim through this checklist of telltale signs and proceed to watch the video below that explains how to tell dank good weed from bad weed.

Good Weed:

Color: Green spectrum/Purple
Buds: The buds are big and dense and it takes a little effort to take out a chunk of the whole
Trichomes: Abundant – the more crystals the better
Feel: You should feel the nug slightly sticky when you hold it with your fingers. Not too dry. Not too wet.
Smell: Strong aromas and odors that you'll pick with your nose immediately after you expose the buds to air

Bad Weed:

Color: Brown/Black
Buds: Small and little, the buds have lost volume
Trichomes: Disappointedly few
Feel: Holding the nugs of bad weed in your fingers, you'll notice it's not sticky, but crumbly and brittle. It takes a little effort to grind the nugs with your finger.
Smell: The special odor of weed is lost. The nugs feel stale and moldy. Even when you smoke it, there's a distinctive smell telling ya this weed is very old. If it's too dry, it can be very invasive to the throat, too.

Also, when examining buds, watch out for foreign matter which might be stuck in the buds (e.g. seeds, twigs, dandelion spores, bugs, etc.). Take this as your fast list to consider when inspecting your nugs. See this video for further reference on how to tell good weed vs bad weed.
