In 2017 Plagron exists 25 years. Because of this jubilee, Plagron supports the Mabhalane Mthembu Foundation (MMF) in South Africa. Together they run an agricultural project, which will ensure that the Mooi River community can grow vegetables independently.

For the last 25 years, Plagron has grown from a small-scale worm farm to an innovative producer of substrates, nutrients and additives. From the office and production site in Ospel (The Netherlands), products are distributed worldwide. To celebrate its anniversary, Plagron gives a gift to people who can really use it and profit from it for the rest of their lives.

Agricultural project

Together with the Mabhalane Mthembu Foundation, Plagron therefore runs an agricultural project in Mooirivier. Many inhabitants of this South African town live below the poverty line and there is a growing shortage of food. The aim of the project is therefore that the inhabitants of Mooi River can grow their own vegetables and be self-sufficient. This will initially happen on a field near the Bruntville Primary School in Mooi River. At a later stage, the agricultural project will continue on a larger field just outside the city.

Movie

To highlight the anniversary project, Plagron launched a special movie. Plagron visited South Africa and returned with impressive images. The film shows how you can grow delicious vegetables with a little love, attention and knowledge in the country of the Big Five. On the project website (togetherwegrow.plagron.com) you can admire the movie and watch a lot of other video impressions. Plagron shows the film at all exhibitions where it operates in 2017: Mary Jane, SPANNABIS and Cannafest.
